Enjoy picnic areas\, native plants\, wildlife habitat and a rotating exhibit of contemporary art that is fun for the entire family. The best part? The Park is FREE to visit\, sunrise to sunset every day of the year. Josephine Sculpture Park also accepts Yes Cards for their paid programs and events. Visit their website to learn more. \n\nPaul Sawyier Public Library \nLocated in downtown Frankfort\, the library offers awesome programming for all ages! \n\nCove Springs Park \nCove Springs has hiking trails\, waterfalls and plenty of space to move. Built by George Hockersmith c.1855\, this historic bridge is 120 ft. long\, 11 ft. wide\, and of Howe truss design.  Each entrance has a saw tooth edge. Rebuilt in 1998\, the bridge is on the National Historic Register. SUMMARY:Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Conference
DESCRIPTION:20th Bluegrass Regional Grandparents/ Relatives Raising Children Conference (GAP) \nThis annual event will take place on Thursday\, March 21\, 2024\, at the Clarion Hotel\, 1950 Newtown Pike\, Lexington\, KY. \nThis year’s keynote speaker\, Allison Davis Maxon is the Executive Director of the National Center on Adoption & Permanency.  Allison is a nationally recognized expert in the fields of child welfare and children’s mental health specializing in Attachment\, Developmental Trauma and Permanency/Adoption. She will be presenting two workshops: Kinship Families: Supporting Inter-Generational Healing and Seven Core Issues in Kinship Families: Strengths\, Growth and Healing. There will be six other workshops offered – Understanding Trauma Response\, Legal\, Social Media & Mental Health\, Stress Management\, Family Bridges\, and Substance Abuse. \nGrandparents/Relatives: \n\nThe first 100 kinship caregivers to register will receive a free copy of The Seven Core Issues Workbook for Parents of Traumatized Children and Teens\nBe sure to signup for a FREE Legal Consult\n\nWe hope that you will make an effort to join us again or for the first time on March 21. The conference fee is $10.00 for grandparent\, relative or caregiver and $75.00 for professionals (includes CEUs for Social Work and FRYC Training Hours).  Registration fee includes lunch and workshop materials. SUMMARY:Annual Easter at Lakeview Park
DESCRIPTION:The Franklin County Fiscal Court continues its partnership with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office KY for the 5th Annual Easter at Lakeview Park\, 1 pm on Saturday\, March 23\, 2024. The title sponsor\, Traditional Bank\, returns for the fifth year\, and another sponsor\, State Farm Agent Jason Dunn\, has joined in on the fun to make this family-centered event possible. Through their combined generosity\, 15\,000 eggs will be on hand. The County will be partnering with YesARTS! to make a sensory-friendly area and egg hunt available so that all Franklin Countians can take part and participate. The Franklin County Health Department\, the Imagination Library of Franklin County\, and the Paul Sawyier Public Library will return again\, with the Imagination Library registering children for free books and PSPL bringing the excitement with its obstacle course and craft area for the kids. Face painting will be available courtesy of the Franklin County High School Key Club. Both the Franklin County Fire and Road Departments will be on hand with fleet vehicles and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office will return with a family favorite\, its mounted police unit. And here is the best part – Easter at Lakeview Park activities are FREE. Frankfort High School Athletics will be on site and have bottled water\, popcorn and freezer pops for sale\, $2 or less with all proceeds benefitting FHS student athletic programs.\n\nPlease use the form\, link below\, to pre-register your family in the age-appropriate group. Once registered\, you will receive an email with logistical information two days before the event. In the event of inclement weather\, the hunt will move to Sunday\, March 24th at 1 PM.
