Spooky Season in Frankfort
It’s spooky season! Time for fall festivals and halloween fun. Here are some free (or cheap) things to do in Frankfort this season for families and kids.
October 7-11: Fall Break Camp, Creepy Creations with Broadway Clay
Cost: $165 (Yes Cards Accepted)
Time: 9:00am -12:00pm
During this camp we will be creating wheel thrown pots, monster mugs, spider web bowls, carving clay pumpkins and more! Bring your creative spirit!
Our week-long clay camps provide a professional studio environment for campers to grow their artistic skills. Through exploration, students become independent learners who aren’t afraid to freely create and make messy mistakes! Our qualified instructors teach skills that allow students to develop artwork worthy for a portfolio.

October 11: Little Witches Night Out at Yes Arts
Downtown Frankfort Inc is hosting a Witches Night Out event for adults, so we thought it was the perfect time to offer a Little Witches Night Out for kids! October 19: Haunting on the Hill with Capital City Museum
Haunting on the Hill is soon approaching! Are you ready? This year to ride the hay wagon to the hill you will need to get a FREE ticket OR you can walk up Military Hill!
Do I need tickets for the event? No! The event is FREE and anyone is welcome to walk into the park using Military Trail. If you’d like to enter on a hayride, you must have a ticket.
October 19: CCC State Trail of Treats at Juniper Hills

October 25: Black Cat Chase
Get out your best costume, grab your friends and fam: it’s the most fun Halloween 5K in KY! 
Friday, Oct. 25, we’ll be in downtown Frankfort for the annual YMCA Black Cat Chase 5K presented by Frankfort Regional Medical Center – and we want to see you there!

October 26: Thriller, Downtown Trick or Treat + Parade with Downtown Frankfort Inc.
Join us on October 26th, 2024, because you won’t want to miss Downtown Frankfort Inc. “A Thriller: Trick or Treat event!
Join us from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM for a downtown Halloween celebration like no other
Kids’ Trick or Treat Stations by local businesses: 5:00PM – 6:30PM
Face Painting Station: 5:00 PM- 6:30 PM
Thriller Parade down St. Clair & Broadway Street: 7:00PM
Pumpkin Trail: Paul Sawyier Public Library will be giving away free pumpkins prior to event to carve/decorate and bring down to display and enter into a contest.

October 31: Hallowings Trunk or Treat at Capital City Airport
There’s plenty more to get excited about here at Capital City Airport! Join us on Halloween from 4:30-6:30pm for our first-ever HalloWings trunk-or-treat event!
