YMCA at Second Street School
Themes vary by week, $150 per week plus registration fees
Ages: 5-12
Weekly themes such as Superheroes and Sidekicks, Splashtacular, and Aloha Island Cruise help set the tone for all sorts of fun activities. From games and sports to arts and crafts to outdoor adventures to science, a Y day camp experience offers kids the chance to learn new things and enjoy new adventures.


YAY Camp- Out & About Frankfort
JUNE 17-21, $100
Ages: PRESCHOOL/PRE-K

Out & About Frankfort is a camp designed for Preschool/Pre-K aged children who have not yet attended Kindergarten. This is a half day camp experience.

During the week, campers will experience field trips in downtown Frankfort, learning about cool Frankfort facts & building a cardboard box replica of our town! 

Your kiddo won’t want to miss this action packed week with visits to local dance & martial arts studios, fire and police stations, local parks, & Broadway Clay!


YAY Camp- Out & About Frankfort
JUNE 17-21, $200
Ages: ELEMENTARY

Out & About Frankfort is a camp designed for children 4 years – 5th grade. 
During the week, campers will experience field trips in & around Frankfort, learning about cool Frankfort facts & building a cardboard box replica of our town! 
Your kiddo won’t want to miss this action packed week with visits to local dance & martial arts studios, fire and police stations, local parks, & Broadway Clay! 
Our week will culminate in a boat trip for all campers & families on the KY river!


YAY Camp- Getting Wild About Nature
JULY 15-19, $100
Ages: PRESCHOOL/PRE-K MINI CAMP

Getting Wild About Nature is a camp designed for Preschool/Pre-K aged children who have not yet attended Kindergarten. This is a half day camp experience. 

During the week, campers will experience a variety of outings in & around Frankfort where we will learn about pollinators & plants, making seed bombs, plantable paper, & painting pots, cloud identification and more while exploring Frankfort’s coolest locations & creatures! YAY Camp- Getting Wild About Nature

Getting Wild About Nature is a camp designed for children 4 years – 5th grade.

During the week, campers will experience outings in & around Frankfort where we will learn about pollinators & plants, making seed bombs, plantable paper, painting pots, & cloud identification while exploring Frankfort’s coolest locations & creatures!

Your kiddo won’t want to miss this action packed week with visits to local parks, Salato Center, scavenger hunts, birding adventures & plein-air painting.


Canoe Kentucky
Wednesdays this Summer
Ages: 9-14

Get your kids unplugged and outdoors this summer! Maybe you cannot commit to a full summer camp, but CKY: Canoe Kentucky’s WET Program (Wednesday Enlightening Trips) will meet all your needs for getting your kids outside this summer, and giving you a few hours to get LIFE done! Each program will include an adventure exploring while engaging in a fun environmental education activity. Youth will spend time paddling each program day, weather permitting.

Broadway Clay
Weeks and themes vary, $165 per week
Ages vary

Broadway Clay offers week long clay camps in a professional studio environment. Through exploration, students become independent learners who aren’t afraid to freely create and make messy mistakes! Our qualified instructors teach skills that allow students to develop artwork worthy for a portfolio.

Kids Camp 1: Animals of the Rainforest

June 3-7, Ages 7 – 12

Description: Research the rainforests and discover its animals from anaconda coil jars to the Zodiac Moths on the wheel, enjoy learning and creating the animals of the rainforest.

Instructor: Leah is a gradate of the University of Kentucky’s Communication and Marketing Program where she has an emphasis in the Visual Arts. She has been part of the Broadway Clay community for over two years and currently teaches many of our classes and private lessons.

Kids Camp 2: Potter Exploration (Ages 4-6) 

June 10- 14, Ages 4-6

Description: An introduction to clay, children will have the opportunity to use a pottery wheel to throw a pot and hand-build unique creations.

Instructor: Cheryl Sandefer is a 15 year preschool veteran who has been working in clay for over 10 years. She teaches at a local preschool where she molds young minds with structure, smiles, and creativity.

Kids Camp 3: Stroll Through Paris

June 17-21, Ages 6-11

Description: From the Eiffel Tower to art of the Louvre Museum. We will explore the landmarks and artworks of Paris in clay. We will throw on the wheel and hand build.

Instructor: Kaja Jaques is an undergraduate at Asbury University studying Visual Art and Film. She has been involved in ceramics her entire life and part of Broadway Clay since 2017 in Kids Classes & Camps.

Camp 4: Egyptian Clay Camp

June 24-28, Ages 7 – 12

Description: You will be exploring (from the safety of Broadway Clay) the tombs of Egypt and creating a sarcophagus box with a mummy inside, pyramid, canonic jars, hieroglyphic jewelry, and other treasures. You will learn about myths of Ancient Egypt and throw on the wheel.

Kids Camp 5: Creating Your “Favorite Things”

July 8-12, Ages 7-12

Description: What’s your favorite animal, food, drink or video game characters? We will let our favorite things inspire our work in this camp. Come create clay objects that are all about you! (This class will focus mainly on hand building and will not contain wheel thrown aspects of pottery.)

Instructor: Becky Cunningham was born and raised in Frankfort and attended Georgetown College with a degree in Elementary Education. She received her Master’s in Art Education and currently teaches Art at Elkhorn Elementary. We are excited to have a local art teacher who is inspiring the next generation of sculptors!

Kids Camp 6: Hand-Building Habitats

July 15- 19, Ages 5-10

Description: This week’s workshop will be influenced by plant and animal homes around the world. We’ll be practicing some wheel-throwing and handbuilding skills to create important elements of different ecosystems.

Life Adventure Center
Weeks, themes and ages vary

Life Adventure Center’s programming uses outdoor adventure to unlock internal resilience. More resilient people have better health outcomes, but also have the power to increase the resilience and connectedness of their classroom, workplace, family and community.

Elements All Stars

Elements All Stars offers recreational gymnastic classes, competitive gymnastics, private gymnastics and open gyms. Summer camps are built for ages five and up. Pre-registration and payment due before all camps begin.

Camp price, $150 per week.

Our camp home will be at 285 flat Creek road, at the old Bald knob school.

June 3-7, Hello Summer

We will do all things summer during this fun week of camp. Outdoor play, obstacle courses, crafting, water games, scavenger hunts, fitness fun, and more!!

June 17-21, Camp Crafty

Join us as we explore different art mediums, through fun projects and crafting adventures! This is for Crafters of all levels. Campers will enjoy fitness fun and outdoor play during this week as well.

June 24-28, Gymnastics Camp

During this week of camp we will be doing all things gymnastics. Campers will learn vault, beam, bar and floor skills. We will also work on fitness endurance and flexibility. This will culminate with a performance on Friday, in a mock meet style!

July 8-12, Circus and Acrobatic Camp

This will be a week full of fun!! We will be working on things like learning how to clown, acro tricks, hand balancing tricks, juggling, baton twirling, and learning basic skills with aerial silks. This week will culminate with a small performance for our families.

July 15-19, Garden, Grow, and Learn Camp

Campers who join us this week will enjoy learning about all things garden. We will be planting and maintaining plants. We will learn about our food we eat and how to grow it. Campers will also learn how to put together fun recipes with healthy ingredients. We will also be having plenty of PE style games, water games, and fitness fun this week!

July 22-26, Gymnastics Camp

During this week of camp we will be doing all things gymnastics. We will learn skills on vault, being, bar, and floor. Campers will learn fitness endurance and flexibility. This will culminate with a performance on friday, in a mock meet style!


Franklin County 4-H Camp
July 2-5, $250
Ages: 9-15
Youth are able to spend 4 days, 3 nights at camp exploring new opportunities, participate in classes, such as swim, archery, canoeing, cooking and much more! They will build leadership skills and meet other youth from other parts of the state!


Grand Theater

Ages 8-14

Kiwanis Soccer Camp
May 29-August 6, $10 per week
Ages: 6-17
At KIWANIS – GFC FRANKFORT SOCCER CAMP AND CLINIC, we offer kids of all ages and backgrounds a structured opportunity for growth. Our enriched program is designed for campers to promote independence and self-confidence all while making new friends and learning exciting new skills. To find out more and to discover if our Soccer Camp is a good fit for your child, please read on or get in touch with us.

Camps are 9-11am weekdays, at Good Sheperd Catholic School. Youth are required to have shin guards, soccer clips, soccer ball and a water bottle.

1) 6 to 9 years old – May 29 to June 4, 2024

2) 10 to 13 years old – June 12 to June 25, 2024

3) 14 to 17 years old – July 3 to July 16, 2024

4) Advanced for any age – July 24 to August 6, 2024
