Spooky Season in Frankfort

Our little town is full of fun this month! Check out these local events and happenings…
October 17: Haunted by History with Kentucky Historical Society
Machinations, Murder, and Mystery—Oh My! Join KHS at the Old State Capitol for a low-light, nighttime tour of the “darker side” of Kentucky history. Dive into notorious tales that include revengeful star-crossed lovers doomed to tragedy, the John Fallis gang whose explosions and rebellious threats careened through Frankfort, murder on the Capitol grounds, and two deaths inside the building right on the Senate floor. We’ll also explore macabre Victorian mourning and funeral practices that strike modern sensibilities … an evening full of grisly facts!* Pre-registration is required. Register before 5 p.m. the day before your tour.
*Content may not be suitable for small children.
More Dates: October 23, 24 and 30

October 18: Haunting on the Hill with Capital City Museum
Get your FREE transportation tickets for hayrides at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1409391711549?aff=oddtdtcreator
People who want to walk into the park will take Military Trail, behind Urban Woods apartments. No walking up Clifton Avenue or Pleasant Hill Drive will be permitted. This is to keep folks safe and prevent hayrides slowing down due to congestion.
From 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm the trail will temporarily close to the public as it shifts to a Ghost walking trail (Spooky Trail). At this time, Museum staff will also turn on the lighting and effects at the Spooky Trail. Actors will begin to roam the park beginning at 7:00 pm.
We want to ensure that you’re aware of this timing and that we cannot guarantee your participation in the Trick-Or-Treat Trail after 6:00 pm. If you are joining us with the intention to Trick-or-Treat we recommend changing your tickets to an earlier time slot.
Food, drinks, and the cornpit will be available throughout the 6 – 7 pm reset, but transit on and off the hill will slow.
