- Frankfort Cemetery and the Daniel Boone Burial Site: The cemetery is great for a walk and has a unique view of Frankfort
- Kentucky State Capitol Building
- Kentucky Vietnam Veterans Memorial
- Floral Clock: a 34ft clock that changes seasonally
- Paul Sawyier Public Library: Tons of free programs and activities
- Franklin County Extension Office: 4H programs and much more

- State Capitol Overlook: a popular scenic spot at 700 Louisville Rd

- Leslie Morris Park on Fort Hill: historic civil war fort, hiking, picnic shelter, scenic overlook
- Switzer Covered Bridge
- Josephine Sculpture Park: free sculpture park open daily.
- Cove Springs Park: hiking trails, waterfall, picnic shelter, scenic overlook, archery range
- Thorn Hill Education Center: adult education classes, family literacy group, family events, basketball gym, community garden
- Juniper Hills Park: swimming, golf, tennis, playground, sand volleyball, outdoor fitness, walking trail
- West Sixth Farm: hiking trails, outdoor space
- Frankfort Trolley: Free 45-minute trolley tour which runs Tuesday through Saturday from April to October. The trolley has 21 stops, including the State Capitol and grounds, Rebecca Ruth Candy Tours & Museum, Old State Capitol and Buffalo Trace. Just look for the red and green trolley and hop on and off to see all that Frankfort offers.
